FAQs

FAQ's About Orthotics & Podiatry

There are some occasions when a referral is needed though but these are few and far between. You might need a referral to see a podiatrist if you fall under a medical concession scheme such as the Department of Veteran Affairs or Worker’s Compensation.

Orthotics are often prescribed by doctors to help relieve pain and discomfort in a patient’s lower back, calves, or feet. When these parts of the body become overworked from standing all day at work or running around with kids all afternoon it can cause severe aches that need relief as soon as possible.

Orthotics function like customized insoles for your shoes; they provide more support where you need it most so you’re not always hobbling up stairs because your foot hurts too much to do any other type of movement outside sitting down!
